Two former Apprentices have been nominated for the ‘Budweiser Player of the Round’ trophy after producing eye-catching displays in the FA Cup Second Round Qualifying.
Ex Burnley midfielder Nicky Platt and Tom Winters, a winger who started his career at Oxford United are up for the award.
Platt who was at Turf Moor between 2004-06 scored a hat-trick last weekend to help his present Club, FC United Of Manchester, edge past Salford City in a difficult local derby.
While Winters also hit a treble in a 4-0 home win for Brackley Town over Daventry Town.
