Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday’s Academies shared the spoils last weekend in a hard fought draw at Compton.
The Owls went ahead when Callum Harrison fired home from distance, however, the home side hit back before the break through Andrew Lanell.
The second half saw Wednesday defend well as Wolves failed to capitalise on their ascendency.
Speaking to the Club’s official website, Wolves Assistant Academy Manager and Under-18s coach Mick Halsall was left to reflect on what might have been;
“In a game we should have won we found ourselves a goal down in the first 20 minutes, We did not pick up on a loose ball and their player was able to shoot from distance at a time when I felt we were starting to get to grips with the game and dominate.”
“The goal knocked us back a little but we responded very well through a well taken goal by Andre which gave us a 1-1 score line at half time.”
“Our play in general was very good and we dominated the second half putting the opposition under constant pressure and creating some good chances with-out them being clear cut. It was pleasing overall but we must improve our end product after having so much of the ball.”
