Chris Hanna is one of the first of a batch of ex Apprentices to take full advantage of LFE’s Progression Partner programme.
Successful completion of a gym instructor qualification has seen the Midlands based youngster enjoy a new lease of life outside the game.
After completing his Apprenticeship in 2007, Hanna was given a 1-year professional deal at Walsall but was released at the end of the 2007-08 season after failing to make an impression on the Saddlers first-team.
However, far from bemoaning his luck the youngster has been quick to enhance his CV away from football and re-train for the future.
Jumping on board LFE’s Progression programme, Hanna has been able to engage with partner organisations YMCAfit and Fitness First in pursuit of a new goal. He said;
“After leaving pro football my next step was always going to be entering the fitness industry it’s always been an ambition of mine so this just seemed the perfect fit.”
The partnership allows footballers to retrain and be assessed by Fitness First at the same time as you obtain a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification delivered by YMCAfit.”
