His Story: Riteesh Mishra

Riteesh Mishra signed for Nottingham Forest and completed his Apprenticeship in the summer of 2010.

However with the youngster not impacting on Billy Davies’ first-team squad he was released that summer.

As part of his back-up plan Mishra attended LFE’s Assessment Trials. He performed ably and was subsequently offered the chance to join the University of Stirling.

It was a decision he took no time at all to make keen to combine higher education with a reputable university football programme. A move north of the border followed and the Midlands based youngster was soon to widen his experience further thanks to an employment opportunity that came via LFE.

Now a sports tour representative for Inspiresport, Mishra has developed his skill set administering football tours across the UK and Europe. And he has also been able to fit trips to Spain and Italy in as part of the role without neglecting his studies.

His role has involved ensuring that the tours to plan in terms of the essentials like, travel arrangements, meals, accommodation and coaching sessions. The former Forest midfielder has even found the time to dust off his boots off and use his FA Level 2 Coaching in Football to hold sports sessions with children on the tours.

Now nearing the end of his second year at university Mishra has become a key member of of Stirling’s 2011 British Universities League Championship winning side and he is clearly loving every minute of his new career.

It was a great experience playing full-time football at Forest but the fact I completed the education course whilst I was there made this dream opportunity at the University of Stirling possible.”
