Ipswich Town slipped to a 0-2 defeat against Charlton Athletic on Saturday in Academy League Group A.
The visitors recorded their fourth win of the campaign after two first-half strikes from Lewis Perkins in a contest that the home side had started well.
David Cawley and Josh Carson both went close for the Tractor Boys early on but on the half hour mark the visitors took the lead when Tamer Tuna released Perkins inside the 18-yard box and the striker finished with aplomb.
Charlton could have doubled their advantage moments later but the Town defence were relieved to see a Tuna effort rebound off the bar to safety.
Addicks skipper Carl Jenkinson then saw a 20-yard strike well held by the Town Keeper but not to be denied the visitors added a second on the stroke of half-time when Tosan Popo broke down the right and slid the ball across the face of goal for Perkins apply the finish.
Town manfully tried to gain a foothold in the encounter and Cawley went close but despite their best efforts the Charlton rearguard stood firm.
