Leicester City’s Under-18s continued their impressive start to the season with a 4–2 victory over Arsenal on Saturday morning.
The Foxes maintained their 100% record after an entertaining encounter with Steve Bould’s men. Last season’s FA Youth Cup winners Arsenal found themselves 3–0 down after two goals from Cian Bolger and one from Elliot Chamberlain had put the Foxes 3-0 ahead at the break.
However, the young Gunners fought back during the second half. Goals from Luke Freeman and Cedric Evina set nerves jangling in the home defence as the Gunners threatened a grand stand finish, however Adi Yussef was on hand to seal well-earned 4-2 victory for City.
Speaking to the Club website Academy Manager, Jon Rudkin, said:
“This was a really pleasing result for us. The game was very exciting, with some outstanding interchanges of play demonstrated by both teams. I’m delighted for the lads and look forward to the next game.”
John Rudkin’s men will now look to add Charlton Athletic’s scalp to a list that already contains Sunderland, Liverpool, Norwich and Arsenal, when they visit the capital on Saturday.
