LFE Learner of the Term Winner I April – July

LFE’s Learner of the Term celebrates the efforts of students who have made excellent academic progress and a positive contribution at their club. On this occasion, the winner will receive a certificate and £200 Amazon voucher.

AJ Allen – Nottingham Forest Community Trust

A first year learner at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, AJ’s tutor Leanne McDonagh can’t speak highly enough of him: “AJ is a lovely, kind hearted human being who will help anyone in need at the drop of a hat. This could be helping tutors with small classroom tasks, helping his fellow students, or helping other members of staff around the trust.

He takes on every volunteer opportunity that is offered to him, developing his personal skills further. His communication skills have improved, as has his confidence, which will serve him well as he follows his passion for coaching. AJ even came into college specially to help a Year 13 student finish off his coaching programme, despite having already completed his work for the year.

At home AJ has faced some tough circumstances, especially with his younger sister being ill after having been born prematurely. Despite this, AJ has shown great resilience and time management in overcoming this adversity achieving his predicted grades in every assignment. He is usually in college before I am!”
