LFE's Visit to Mansfield Town Club Community Organisation

LFE’s Visit to Mansfield Town Club Community Organisation

As part of their ongoing support, League Football Education (LFE) recently visited Mansfield Town to see what their second-year learners were planning for the future and caught up with a few of them to find out what plans they had moving forward.

Jenson has set his sights on a unique opportunity outside of the UK. He is in the final stages of preparing for his upcoming role with Camp America, where he will be coaching children at summer camps across the United States. With great enthusiasm, Jenson shared his excitement: “I can’t wait to get out there and start the role. Some of my friends recently worked for the company and had a great time. I have passed my interview, so I’m just waiting on my next training days where I will hopefully find out where I will be based next summer!”

His decision to coach in the US is inspired by his passion for working with young people, and the opportunity to broaden his coaching experience in an international setting.

Another learner, Caiden, is in the process of applying to join the British Army, a career path that aligns with both his interest in serving his country and continuing his football journey. While he plans to develop new skills and learn a trade through military service, Caiden is also keen to continue playing football at a competitive level. He sees the Army as a way to pursue both his passion for football and gain life skills that will benefit his future.

In addition to these unique paths, the five learners who can be seen in the picture at the top of the story are in the midst of completing university applications, aiming to study Sport Coaching & Development at Mansfield Town through the partnership with University of South Wales and the EFL. These learners hope to continue their coaching journey by pursuing a Foundation Degree in the field.

The learners all conveyed how much they have enjoyed their time on the programme, particularly the practical experience and the knowledge gained through work placements. They recognize the value of these experiences in making them more employable in the future, whether in sports coaching or other related fields.

The LFE visit to Mansfield CCO highlighted the diverse aspirations of the learners and the importance of offering tailored support to ensure they are equipped for their individual journeys. Whether through overseas experiences, military service, or university degrees, each learner is well-prepared to transition into the next phase of their personal and professional development.
