Mark Roberts Mentors Oldham Youngsters

LFE shadowed Mark Roberts during a recent visit to Oldham Athletic, to see how his face-to-face personal development workshops are helping apprentices across the country improve performance, well-being and transition.

Mark builds his sessions around identity and performance, as part of LFE’s wider Personal Development Programme. His workshop at Boundary Road looked at how exploring interests away from the football pitch can offer a healthy distraction, and, in fact, aid on-the-field performance.

Tapping into his experiences as a former apprentice and professional footballer, he encourages young footballers to discuss the wide range of challenges that they will face in a collaborative and informal environment, while offering personal advice on how to overcome them.
