Chris Martin celebrated the signing of a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Norwich City and then fired the promotion chasers to the top of League One.
The youngster who penned his new deal prior to kick-off, helped Norwich overcome the first-half dismissal of top scorer Grant Holt to beat Brentford and move above Leeds on goal difference.
Martin slid the ball under Brentford keeper Wojciech Szczesny after Oli Johnson’s jinking run and cute pass had put him in on goal.
Speaking about the young forward to the Club’s website, Manager Paul Lambert said:
“Chris has been brilliant for us so far this season. He has been playing on top of his game and he deserves this new contract.”
“It’s great for the club to have players who have come through the Academy. He’s still only 21 and is a terrific finisher with both feet, as he showed against Colchester last weekend.”
