Northampton Town have signed 23 year old midfielder Kevin Thornton on a short term contract.
Originally a product of the Coventry City Academy, Thornton made his debut for the Sky Blues on 20th September 2005.
He made sixteen Championship appearances later that season, putting in a string of impressive displays.
In July 2009, Thornton left Coventry City by mutual consent and earlier this season he re-signed with his former Club Boyne Rovers in Ireland.
In December he joined Nuneaton Town on a non contract deal before making the switch to Sixfields.
“Kevin has been on trial with us and I have been impressed with him,” said boss Ian Sampson. “He is a ball playing midfield player who can create things. We are willing to give him a chance and an opportunity and I think he is eager to take that chance.”
“We are always looking for players we feel will improve the squad and I feel Kevin will do that. He is a good footballer and I am sure he will fit in well.”
