The pros had Monday off following their great game with Pompey so we had the training ground to ourselves. Geoff was away skiing so that meant no weights, something I wasn’t complaining about! Due to the amount of rain that fell overnight, we went to Tulketh’s indoor pitches to train and we had some 6-a-side matches which were played at a high tempo. You always have to be on your toes with the pitches being so small, a player can score from anywhere. After this we were back to the training ground for a yoga session.
After dinner I learned I was on the bench for the Reserves against Man City tomorrow which meant I didn’t have to report for training in the morning as we were meeting at Deepdale at 11.30. I was coaching with the kids Monday night; I did some basic technique work with the young kids and then more advanced work with the older group. Back to the digs for tea and some sleep in preparation for the morning.
