Potters Youngster Kelly Turns Pro

Stoke City have announced that U18s midfielder Gabriel Kelly has signed his first professional contract at the club, one that will keep him at the Bet365 Stadium until 2026.

The 17-year-old apprentice joined the Potters from Manchester City last year and has since gone onto become an important member of Dave Hibbert’s U18s squad, while also occasionally turning out for the U21s. Kelly also represents Ireland at youth level.

“Gabriel has worked hard for this opportunity,” said Stoke City Academy Director Gareth Owen. “It is always a proud moment to see a young player sign their first professional contract after they’ve shown significant dedication to get to this point in their career.

“There were several clubs trying to sign Gabriel when we recruited him so it is testament to the work of the coaches and staff, and the platform that the club provides to young players, that he sees a pathway here at Stoke City.”
