The preparations for the 2011 Careers Events are well underway and this year the events will fall under the umbrella of ‘Create Your Legacy’, an initiative run by LFE’s Progression Brand and the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
These events will challenge footballers and other elite athletes to ‘Create their own Legacy’. The events will encourage all elite athletes to think about their own legacies by helping them to further their careers and plan for the future.
They will kick off on 17th March at the Madejski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club before pedalling up to the Manchester Velodrome, the home of the National Cycling Centre, on 24th March.
With record levels of youth unemployment, an increasingly tough job market and University places at a premium the idea of the event is to help individuals ‘Create their own Legacy’ for future success whether that involves staying in sport, switching to an entirely new profession or moving in to further or higher education.
