Match: Manchester City Reserves v Preston North End Reserves
Tuesday was match day and it was Manchester City away. We had to report at Deepdale at 11.30 therefore we didn’t have to go into training in the morning. We played at a stadium which is literally right next to the City of Manchester stadium. It was the regional athletics centre or something like that, really nice place though.
Grzegorz Szamotulski made his North End debut in goal. The city team featured Kelvin Etuhu and Daniel Sturridge, who have both scored for the first team, and January signing Felipe Caicedo who cost £5.2 million. It felt a bit weird to be involved in the same match as someone who cost that amount of money! He showed just why when he nearly broke the net with a thunderbolt of a strike to make it 3-0 to City. Daniel Sturridge got the other two.
