Residential Trip For Fleetwood Town Community Trust Students

Residential Trip For Fleetwood Town Community Trust Students

Students on Fleetwood Town’s Community Sports College BTEC course have spent two days on a residential trip as part of their NCS programme, with the group working on team-building exercises and conquering fears.

The aim of the NCS initiative is to improve communication and leadership skills, gaining confidence to overcome fears, improving self-belief and creating a closer bond as a group.

Upon their return from the residential, the participants have been set the task of planning a social action plan for the local community, with previous examples like raising money for local charities through quizzes, local charity work and local community work.

Whilst attending the action-packed outdoor education centre in Whitemoor Lakes, Staffordshire, they took part in a range of activities.

These included abseiling and zip lines, climbing, kayaking and canoeing, challenge and assault courses, team-building and ice breaker activities, high ropes, problem-solving exercises and grate stacking.

They also played a game called ‘Midnight’, where participants are blindfolded around an obstacle course through directions from a partner.

The students will also have access to special courses to further enhance leadership and communication skills, which ultimately will develop their employability skills.
