Scott Seals Premier League Switch

AFC Bournemouth have announced the signing of Alex Scott from Bristol City for £25m. The 19-year-old has penned a long-term contract at The Vitality Stadium.

The young midfielder, who previously played for Bournemouth’s youth academy, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past few years.

Having been let go by the south coast club at a young age, Scott went onto ply his trade with his local non-league side, Guernsey FC.

Despite his age, Scott’s ability was clear to see and was snapped up by Bristol City in 2019 as a 16-year-old. He made his first team debut in August 2021 and has since become an integral part of Nigel Pearson’s Robins side. His impressive performances last year led to him being named the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season.

After signing his contract with the Cherries, Scott said: “I can’t wait, honestly I can’t wait. It’s every kid’s dream to grow up and play in the Premier League one day and even for me, I’d never have expected it three years ago, so to be here now is a real proud moment.”
