Shrewsbury Youngsters Donate Books to Local Library

Shrewsbury Town apprentices recently donated a package of 20 diverse books to Shrewsbury Library.

As part of their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, the club says “it is essential that education is made a key component to ensuring Shrewsbury Town FC is as EDI-friendly as possible.”

After the event, Head of Academy Player Care, Natalie Wood said: “Today, I believe we have done something very meaningful with the books that we have received. Not only will the books support education around equality, diversity and inclusion, but they will encourage our academy players and children in the community to visit the library and read more.

“We have received support from the first team players who have all signed the books. We have added a QR code in the books as we would love to hear what the children have most enjoyed about the books.”

Academy goalkeeper Frankie Beckles added: “I hope people enjoy reading the books as there are some fantastic topics.

“They’ll hopefully allow people to educate themselves about these important topics.”
