Match: Stoke City vs Huddersfield Town
Match day and I had made the bench and was told that I was coming on for around half an hour. Half time came and the game was 0-0. Myself and Brunty (who had also been out injured with the same injury as me) came on after 65 minutes.
We got straight into the game after Brunty crossed the ball in which I nodded on to Jimmy who volleyed the ball, and with the help of a wicked deflection, wrong-footed the Huddersfield Town’s goalkeeper and found its way into the back of the net.
Huddersfield responded well and went on to find an equaliser but 10 minutes from the end some neat footwork and trickery from Jimmy was rewarded in a penalty. I stepped up to take it and rolled the ball into the bottom corner sending the ‘keeper the wrong way. I was happy with the performance, just getting through the game without any knocks or pain in my ankle and a goal was gladly received.
