Through to the Next Stage

Hi everyone!

Well, I’ve dragged this blog out for a couple of days and admittedly it’s overdue for the simple reason of waiting to fill you in with the news of our FA Youth Cup match against Bristol Rovers.

I can tell you the news was positive, with us going into the last 16 of the Cup! We will play Norwich, hopefully at Carrow Road, in the last 16 with the date yet to be confirmed.

Onto the game itself against Bristol Rovers; it certainly wasn’t the prettiest game of football and I imagine wasn’t the best of games to watch for the spectators, but the boys dug deep throughout. We kept a clean sheet and came out 1-0 winners on the night! The goal came from Reece Hales our striker, with a penalty.

So another great night for us all and everyone is certainly looking forward for the next game against Norwich! We were back in the next morning after a long night, the boys came in looking like zombies with bags under their eyes. Those that were involved in the game went through a cool down session and the others trained normally.

The next game is a friendly on Saturday against Millwall at home which will be tough, but some will be given the chance that didn’t play in the Cup game to get a run out and the rest will train.

We have been on a really good run at the moment and we hope to continue it. We will travel to Wigan the weekend after for a league game where it will be very important for us to try and get a win to climb up that league, as well as hopefully continuing our good Cup run too.

I will be keeping you up to date with how the next couple of games go and then also tell you about the Youth Cup game closer to the time too.

Cheers
Charlee
