Still feeling the effects from the running yesterday, and after yet more treatment my diagnosis was confirmed as an irritation of the poplitias muscle behind the knee- this muscle helps to control the legs on deceleration which led us to believe that it was caused through running down the hills and trying to control the speed. I have been given a simple action plan of icing the affected area regularly and literally taking it day by day until it feels like the pain has completely eased off before I can resume running. Not exactly great news at this stage of the game as I could really do with not missing out on training at the moment so I can prepare properly for our pre season matches.
