Sheffield Wednesday starlet Jack Stobbs celebrated his first professional deal last night in front of a crowd of 18,029 at Hillsborough.
While the Owls were being roared on to victory over Championship promotion hopefuls Queens Park Rangers, Stobbs who joined the club as an 8-year-old joined in with his own personal celebration after putting pen to paper on his contract on the pitch.
“I am thrilled to have signed a professional deal, it’s the proudest day of my life and a dream come true,” Stobbs said.
The youngster who won LFE’s Goal of the Month competition only last month has excelled for the club’s Development team throughout this campaign and is thankful for all the support he has received from within and outside the club.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped me become the player and person I am and mainly my mum and dad, who have given me so much support from an early age,” added the attacking midfielder.
“The guys at the academy have been brilliant with me as well. They have always drilled home the importance of showing the right attitude and I have taken that advice on board.”
“I want to continue to learn and move up to the first-team. That’s my goal and I hope to be there as soon as I can.”
