Wildin Brothers Deliver Presentation to Stevenage Scholars

Wildin Brothers Deliver Presentation to Stevenage Scholars

Ex-apprentice and Stevenage full-back Luther Wildin and his brother Courtney delivered a powerful and insightful presentation to the Stevenage apprentices about their property investment ventures on Monday.

Luther and Courtney shared their own individual journeys in football, discussed life changing personal experiences, and gave the scholars an insight into their property business and their exciting new plans for the near future.

The presentation was well received by everyone in the room, with Stevenage’s youth team learning more about why it’s important to explore different avenues and opportunities, whether that be alongside, or in their post sporting careers.

Following the presentation, the two discussed the value of exploring different opportunities outside of football. Courtney told LFE: “It’s very easy when you’re playing football as a young lad to think ‘don’t worry, it’s not going to be me’, but my story highlights that it can be. Situations can arise that can be out of your control and change your path, so that’s why I wanted to deliver my story as it highlights where I was in football, where I was in life and how everything changed.”

Luther added: “I don’t like to look at it as a ‘plan B’, I like to look at it as you have one opportunity to live your life. Football is a part of your life, but it’s not all of it. You spend a certain amount of time of the day at the training ground and if you’re a professional footballer, having a professional mindset is something that you should be coming home with anyway. Expressing your interests outside of football isn’t a plan B, it’s just what you want to do with your time. Rather than being sat on the PlayStation, or wasting time watching TV, you could spend a couple of hours a day finding out what you’re interested in. Understand that your life is going to kick in after football, so you might as well start realising what you want from life after football.

A full feature with Luther and Courtney will be available soon.
