Wood Joins Rovers

Tranmere Rovers have signed former Sheffield Wednesday Apprentice Nick Wood on a one-year contract following a successful trial at Prenton Park.

The 19 year old defender impressed during pre-season matches against Mansfield Town and Nottingham Forest.

“He is a talented young player and he has applied himself well here,” Manager Les Parry told the Club’s official website.

“He has fitted in well, put in two good performances and now there will be lot of competition for places defensively.”

Wood added: “I delighted to sign my contract and hopefully I can push my way into the side and get a regular starting place.”
