The 2010 Football League Apprentice of the Year Award shortlist has been announced.
The Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year category celebrates the achievements of Apprentices and provides an opportunity to showcase young talent.
The nominees were judged by an expert panel who looked at the record of the player in all competitions since he became an Apprentice alongside his educational attainment, disciplinary record and any other outstanding achievements.
The winner from each category will be announced at the Football League Awards ceremony taking place at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane on Sunday 14th March 2010.
The shortlists for each category are as follows:
Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year – Championship
- Adam Matthews (Cardiff City)
- Lee Hodson (Watford)
- Nathan Modest (Sheffield Wednesday)
Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year – League 1
- Aidan White (Leeds United)
- Pietro Palladino (Wycombe Wanderers)
- Tom Adeyemi (Norwich City)
Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year – League 2
- Christopher Brown (Rochdale)
- Corey Barnes (Darlington)
- Kyle Haynes (Cheltenham Town)
Meanwhile Nottingham Forest star Julian Bennett will battle it out with Andy Booth (Huddersfield Town), Peter Leven (Milton Keynes Dons) and Zesh Rehman (Bradford City) in the PFA Player in the Community category.
Bennett a graduate of Forest’s successful Academy has become the Clubs community champion in recent times and has engaged himself with a number of charitable initiatives at the City ground.
